Cox's Bazar Sea Beach is the longest unbroken golden sandy beach in the world. This area of the bay of bengal is free from shark, which make cox's bazar sea beach as one of the most safest sea bathing beach in the world.

Cox's Bazar is the tourism capital of Bangladesh, it is known for its wide sandy beach, which is the world's longest unbroken natural sandy sea beach, which is 125 km long with a gentle slope. This southernmost district city located 150 km south of Chittagong, adjacent to Myanmar border in southeastern side. Cox’s Bazar is also known by the name "Panowa", the literal translation of which means "yellow flower". Its other old name was "Palongkee". The modern Cox's Bazar derives its name from Captain Hiram Cox (died 1799), an officer served as Superintendent of Palonki (today's Cox's Bazar) in British East India Company.

The climate of Cox's bazar is mostly similar to the rest of the country. It is further characterized by the location in the coastal area. The annual average temperature in Cox's Bazar remains at about a maximum of 34.8 °C and a minimum of 16.1 °C. The average amount of rainfall remains at 4,285 mm.

The main attraction of Cox's Bazar is the long sandy beach that stretches from the mouth of the Bakkhali River going all the way to Teknaf. Although commonly known as Cox's Bazar beach, it stretches far beyond the area designated as Cox's Bazar town.

Cox’s Bazar, mostly famous for its beautiful sea beach and the sunset, has several other attractions, including:

Laboni Beach: This is the main beach of Cox's Bazar and is considered the main beach due to the fact that it is closest to the town. Close to the beach, there are hundreds of small shops selling souvenirs and beach accessories to the tourists.

Himchari: Located about 18 km south of Cox’s Bazar along the sea beach, is a nice place for the picnic and film shooting. This picnic spot is famous for its waterfalls. The road to Himchari runs by the open sea on one side and hills on the other, which makes the journey to Himchari very attractive. It’s another attraction is the Christmas tree.

Enani Beach: Located 35 km south of Cox’s Bazar, this white sandy beach is located within Ukhia Thana. The beach is famous for golden sand and clean shark free water, which is ideal for sea bathing. Most tourists prefer to come down here for relaxing because it is free from the crowd of tourists that is usually seen at the Laboni beach.

পর্যটন শিল্পকে কেন্দ্র করে এখানে গড়ে উঠেছে অনেক প্রতিষ্ঠান। বেসরকারি উদ্যোগে নির্মিত অনেক হোটেল, বাংলাদেশ পর্যটন কেন্দ্র নির্মিত মোটেল ছাড়াও সৈকতের নিকটেই দু’টি পাঁচতারা হোটেল রয়েছে। এছাড়া এখানে পর্যটকদের জন্য গড়ে উঠেছে ঝিনুক মার্কেট। সীমান্তপথে মিয়ানমার (পূর্ব নাম - বার্মা), থাইল্যান্ড, চীন প্রভৃতি দেশ থেকে আসা বাহারি জিনিসপত্র নিয়ে গড়ে উঠেছে বার্মিজ মার্কেট।

কক্সবাজারে বিভিন্ন উপজাতি বা নৃ-তাত্ত্বিক জনগোষ্ঠী বাস করে যা শহরটিকে করেছে আরো বৈচিত্র্যময়। এইসব উপজাতিদের মধ্যে চাকমা সম্প্রদায় প্রধান। কক্সবাজার শহর ও এর অদূরে অবস্থিত রামুতে রয়েছে বৌদ্ধ ধর্মালম্বীদের পবিত্র তীর্থস্থান হিসেবে বৌদ্ধ মন্দির। কক্সবাজার শহরে যে মন্দিরটি রয়েছে তাতে বেশ কিছু দুর্লভ বৌদ্ধ মূর্তি আছে। এই মন্দির ও মূর্তিগুলো পর্যটকদের জন্য অন্যতম আকর্ষণ ও কেন্দ্রবিন্দু। কক্সবাজারে শুধু সমুদ্র নয়, আছে বাঁকখালী নামে একটি নদীও। এই নদীটি শহরের মৎস্য শিল্পের জন্য বেশ গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। কক্সবাজার বাংলাদেশের সবচেয়ে স্বাস্থ্যকর স্থান হিসেবে বিখ্যাত।

লাবণী পয়েন্ট
কক্সবাজার শহর থেকে নৈকট্যের কারণে লাবণী পয়েন্ট কক্সবাজারের প্রধান সমুদ্র সৈকত বলে বিবেচনা করা হয়। নানারকম জিনিসের পসরা সাজিয়ে সৈকত সংলগ্ন এলাকায় আছে ছোট বড় অনেক দোকান যা পর্যটকদের জন্য বাড়তি আকর্ষণ।

হিমছড়ি
হিমছড়ি কক্সবাজারের ১৮ কি.মি. দক্ষিণে অবস্থিত। ভঙ্গুর পাহাড় আর ঝর্ণা এখানকার প্রধান আকর্ষণ। কক্সবাজার থেকে হিমছড়ি যাওয়ার পথে বামদিকে সবুজঘেরা পাহাড় আর ডানদিকে সমুদ্রের নীল জলরাশি মনোমুগ্ধকর দৃশ্যের সৃষ্টি করে। বর্ষার সময়ে হিমছড়ির ঝর্ণাকে অনেক বেশি জীবন্ত ও প্রাণবন্ত বলে মনে হয়। হিমছড়িতে পাহাড়ের চূড়ায় একটি রিসোর্ট আছে যেখান থেকে সাগরের দৃশ্য অপার্থিব মনে হয়।অর্থাৎ এখান থেকে সম্পূর্ণ সমুদ্র এক নজরে দেখা যায়। হিমছড়ির প্রধান আকর্ষণ এখানকার ক্রিসমাস ট্রি। সম্প্রতি হিমছড়িতে গড়ে উঠেছে বেশ কিছু পর্যটন কেন্দ্র ও পিকনিক স্পট।

ইনানী সমুদ্র সৈকত
দীর্ঘ সমুদ্র সৈকত ছাড়াও কক্সবাজারে সৈকত সংলগ্ন আরও অনেক দর্শনীয় এলাকা রয়েছে যা পর্যটকদের জন্য প্রধান আকর্ষণের বিষয়। সৈকত সংলগ্ন আকর্ষণীয় এলাকাগুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছ, ইনানী সমুদ্র সৈকত যা কক্সবাজার থেকে ৩৫ কি.মি দক্ষিণে অবস্থিত। অভাবনীয় সৌন্দর্যে ভরপুর এই সমুদ্র সৈকতটি কক্সবাজার থেকে রাস্তায় মাত্র আধঘণ্টার দূরত্বে অবস্থিত। পরিষ্কার পানির জন্য জায়গাটি পর্যটকদের কাছে সমুদ্রস্নানের জন্য উৎকৃষ্ট বলে বিবেচিত।
