The Road Shower is a rack mounted solar shower. It is really more than a shower. It is a pressurized water supply that mounts to your vehicle. The Road Shower mounts to any Yakimatm or Thuletm rack using the included Yakimatm Universal wrap around. It holds 4 gallons, enough for 2-3 showers. It can be pressurized with a bicycle pump, or a CO2 cartridge pump. It is fitted with a pressure relief valve for safety. It can also be used with gravity. It does not have to be pressurized. The Road Shower can be used for many things. It works great as the camp hose, providing pressurized hot water for cleaning gear, dishes, the dog ( 9), a powerful squirt gun, or for taking a shower, cleaning the cooler, or just washing off your hands or face. During sunny days, the Road Shower will heat up the water while you travel. No need to set it up when you arrive, it is always ready. If you are playing outside, such as surfing, climbing, biking, or hiking, when you return to your vehicle, it is warmed up and ready to rinse you off. No need to head home for a shower, before going out to dinner...you can take a shower at your car.
What about privacy? A shower curtain can be attached to the Road Shower easily in a few minutes. The shower curtain accessory can be found on our on- line store, or check our other listings. It comes with a Road Shower bag, a shower curtain, a mat, curtain rings, the curtain frame, and the curtain frame mounts.
Road Shower uses the renewable energy from the sun. The sun enters the clear UV resistant acrylic chamber and heats the black surface on the inside. The black surface transfers the heat to the water. The water heats up as long as the tube is receiving sunlight from any angle. On a sunny hot day the water will heat up to over 100 degrees. It does not heat as well during the cool months or when it is cloudy.
The Road Shower takes almost no room on your rack. It can fit next to or between other attachments, such as bike racks. You can mount the Road Shower to any factory attached luggage rack by purchasing Yakima MIghty Mountstm.
Road Shower is rugged. You can take it anywhere. It has been tested on the White Rim trail and other rugged 4x4 roads in Utah and Colorado. It stays on the rack and does not break.
