The goal of this project was to portray the endless struggle of finding the balance between school and collegiate sports in order to survive. Its a conflict that never seems to be solved, therefore, this video is played on a loop because its always a constant battle that athletes endure.

To depict the conflicting positions of being a swimmer and a student, I performed this act in the pool wearing jeans, white shirt, and a backpack; the most uncomfortable outfit you can wear in water. My backpack was filled with 40lbs. of rubber brick to actually make it challenging to reach the surface. Essentially, I am drowning myself trying to balance being a student and an collegiate athlete at the same time. All the facial expressions and struggles to get to the surface is not acting, its me actually fighting to reach the surface and get air.
