Southern Cross Baptism💦
Pastor Frank baptized Levi Berretta, Celestria Berretta, and Sahar Hamza, in the back yard today. Our baptismal pool was a 8x3x2, 300 gallon stock tank.
In Mark 16:16 Jesus said, "whoever believes and is baptized will be saved." Because of the great significance of baptism, Jesus himself was baptized. Ritual cleansing in the old Testament sometimes included baptism. In the new Testament, baptism became an outward expression of an inward faith in Jesus. It represents the moment we go public with our commitment to the Christian life. It is symbolic in this way: when we go under the water it shows that our old man of sin is being buried like Jesus was buried; then when we come up out of the water it shows we have been resurrected with Jesus into a new life of faith in Christ! According to the bible, from the moment we truly believe, God sees us as "A new creation in Christ."
In Acts 2:38 the New Testament church was born, and "three thousand were added to the church" when Peter commanded, "Repent and be baptized everyone of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the holy Spirit..."
If we receive baptism through real faith and humility, it becomes an opportunity for God to give us the "Irrevocable" gift of the holy Spirit!
