Great Movie Scenes: Drag Me to Hell
[This clip contains spoilers]
In Sam Raimi's Drag Me to Hell, loan officer Christine Brown (Alison Lohman) declines to give a loan to an old gypsy woman in order to please her boss with a possible promotion coming up. The woman, Mrs. Ganush, places a curse on Christine which will first put her through hell, figuratively, and then drag her to hell, literally.
This scene, towards the end of the movie, has Chrstine digging up Mrs. Ganush's corpse to give the cursed object back to her and thereby lifting the curse. The normally timid Christine has finally had enough after having endured three days of all the terrifying, nasty and disturbing things Raimi has cooked up for her and you can't help but enjoy watching her pry open Mrs. Ganush's jaws with a shovel and jam the envelope into her mouth.
The shot of from the bottom of the grave, looking up through the rain at the muddy Chrstine is my favorite shot in the movie and one of the coolest hero shots you'll ever see.
