Eagle Lake in Lake Tahoe, CA, is a beautiful hidden lake in the mountains, requiring an amazing ~1.5 mile hike to be seen. And yes, it was freezing even on this sunny 75 F day, so much so that I was breathless before being even waist-deep!
I didn't want to do the ice bucket challenge for several reasons, but I had my own ways of supporting the good intentions behind the challenge. I'm happy to say that the accomplishing of this challenge didn't waste any water, and I have already made a donation. And if it catches your attention even a little bit and encourages even one person to learn about ALS and to donate to the cause of finding a cure and/or treatment to ALS, it'll be completely worth it!
