Yep, Florida is a land of extremes. Everything that’s gilt-lined and glamorous to kitschy and tacky. The Gold Coast!

Plenty of loony characters populate Florida settings. Florida is filled with bigger-than-life characters. The sandbar playground of the wealthy spans a long legacy of swashbucklers and bluebloods, mobsters and moguls, social lions and crashed hi-fliers, tiara-ed mavens and desperate housewives.

Big Sugar and Big Oil magnates and other international A-listers, plus surfers and bikini-babes and Parrotheads. Paradise. Tony enclaves of opulence and skyscraper condos.

Hibiscus blossoms, flaming bougainvillea and sparkling swimming pools. And hurricanes! No wonder so many memorable TV shows, films and books are set in Florida.
